Telehealth Therapists
Somen Maiti
Professional Counselor Associate
My name is Somen, and I am a mental health therapist who values the importance of representation in the mental health world and strongly advocate for the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. Originally from Washington D.C., I have a great appreciation for cultural diversity and take on a culturally sensitive approach towards working with you in exploring your therapy goals and co-constructing solutions. In my free time I enjoy running, hiking, swimming, cooking/baking, and spending time with my partner and my cats.
Somen's Approach
Everyone has unique and individual mental health needs and I enjoy taking on a collaborative approach to help clients work through their therapy goals in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Polyvagal-Informed Therapy to help my clients restructure their erroneous beliefs and encourage cognitive flexibility and mindfulness both on a cognitive and somatic level. I welcome clients from all walks and stages of life and believe my clients are experts on themselves, offering invaluable insight into how they’d like to approach their needs and goals.
