Jonathan West-Gray, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

My name is Jonathan, and I am a mental health therapist who specializes in the treatment of religious trauma and religious abuse. Originally from California, I have a great appreciation for cultural diversity. With a background in sociology, I utilize minority stress theory, and endeavor to help clients examine their places in larger systems.

In my free time I enjoy practicing the violin, piano, and other instruments. My own identity has been greatly shaped through the arts, as I am a composer, producer, and artist. I enjoy landscape design and gardening, as well as spending time with my partner and our large family of animals.

Jonathan's Approach

I like to tailor my therapeutic approach to each individual, based on their preferences, and how their brains respond to different types of therapy. Typically I like to start out by building a solid foundation using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and incorporate other theories and modalities, such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Polyvagal-Informed Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as Art Therapy and Receptive Music Therapy for those clients whose identities have also been shaped by the arts.
