Gabi Guzman, CSWA

Clinical Social Work Associate

I’m Gabi, and I come from Dominican ancestry and was born and raised in south Florida, where I developed a deep appreciation for culture, community, and personal growth. In my free time, I love being out in nature, dancing, hanging out with friends, exploring tarot and metaphysics, and continuously learning new things. At home I enjoy quiet moments spent with my cat, Cleobella.

Gabi's Approach

My therapeutic approach integrates CBT, DBT, strength-based techniques, motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy to support clients in meaningful change. I emphasize practical coping strategies, self-empowerment, and personal storytelling to help clients reshape their narrative and develop resilience. My style is collaborative and client-centered, fostering a safe space for self-exploration and growth. By combining structured techniques with compassionate guidance, I help individuals navigate challenges, build confidence, and create lasting positive change.

More About Gabi Guzman

Experience

During my undergraduate studies, I interned at a domestic violence shelter at the YWCA, where I gained experience supporting survivors and connecting them with essential resources. In graduate school, I completed an internship with Broward County Public Schools, providing school-based interventions and support to students and families.

Since earning my Master’s degree, I have worked as an outpatient mental health therapist, offering therapy to individuals across a wide range of ages and presenting concerns. I’ve also worked as a child and family therapist in an intensive in-home behavioral health treatment (IIBHT) program, where I provided comprehensive support to children and families facing complex challenges.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University in 2020 and completed my Master’s degree in Social Work with a specialization in School Social Work in 2023.
