Elise Colasurdo

Professional Counselor Associate

Hello and welcome. My background is fairly eclectic which helps me connect to clients in a multitude of ways. My undergraduate work was in Geology and Physics, which included a lot of math and then I worked as a make-up artist for almost a decade. After having my children, I went back to school for Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am certified in Maternal Mental Health and love working with perinatal clients.

I am from Oregon and have lived in Los Angeles and Seattle. Living in two of the biggest cities on the West Coast broadened my understanding of culture, community, and individuality, which informs how I approach each unique client.

Elise's Approach

I take the time to thoughtfully get to know each client and understand their unique biopsychosocial experience. Humans do not exist in a vacuum and I believe all client concerns can be understood through a combination of their unique biology, psychology, and social environment. I want to meet clients exactly where they are, and walk with them on their journey of healing, growth, and self-exploration. Because of this, I employ a variety of therapeutic modalities depending on what resonates best with the client. I work collaboratively to discover which approach best supports the client’s journey. My most frequently used modalities are Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectic Behavioral, Psychodynamic, and Acceptance and Commitment therapies.
