Dawn's Approach
I believe each person’s story is unique, and I strive to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel truly seen and heard. My approach is client-centered and trauma-informed to help build trust and collaboration while honoring each individual’s pace and needs.
I draw from several evidence-based approaches to support growth and healing. From Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns. Through Motivational Interviewing (MI), I encourage clients to tap into their own strengths and motivation for change. I also integrate Narrative Therapy (NT) to help clients reframe their stories in empowering ways, and I use Play Therapy to give children and adolescents creative outlets for expression and healing.
More About Dawn Hansen
Experience
I bring a range of experience in supporting individuals and families through both challenges and growth. For many years, I worked in high-stakes situations where remaining calm and helping others feel safe was essential. In that role, I guided people through moments of crisis, de-escalated tense situations, and created space for individuals and families to move toward safety and support.

Bachelors degree made up of the three minor in Psychology, Communications, and Criminal Justice. Currently, I am pursuing a masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling working on my direct hours with plans to graduate in 2026.
