Eldon Richey, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Eldon’s Approach
My primary approach as a therapist is modeled after the work of Dr. Milton Erickson. This means that I can utilize hypnotherapy when appropriate in my practice. I have hundreds of hours of training and supervision in Ericksonian Psychotherapy. I also have training in Brief Therapy Techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Family Systems Therapy, and several other approaches. I work to be flexible with each client and listen to their concerns while receiving feedback as therapy progresses.
More About Eldon Richey
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I was first licensed in California in 1976. I have been practicing in Oregon since 2017. Over the past 46 years, I have maintained a private practice, and for 22 years during this time I had privileges at 3 psychiatric hospitals. My inpatient practice included seeing patients individually, providing group therapy on the adolescent and adult units, serving on committees as well as being a director of 2 programs in the hospital. These programs included the “Weekend Family Program” where I and my staff worked with patients and their families each Saturday and Sunday. I also was director of the “Disaster Response Team” which responded to traumatic events in Southern California.
