Elyssa Calderon
Professional Counselor Associate, Bi-Lingual therapist (Spanish)
Hi, my name is Elyssa Calderon, and I’m a Professional Counselor Associate in the beautiful state of Oregon. At my core, I deeply value connection and believe that healing begins when we feel truly understood. Outside of therapy, I’m passionate about animals and enjoy volunteering at shelters. I love being in nature and staying active. I’m always learning something new—whether it’s languages, experimenting with recipes, or exploring topics in psychology. Curious by nature, I seek new perspectives through books, conversations, and everyday experiences.
Elyssa's Approach
My approach to therapy, first and foremost, is to see you as a human first. I deeply believe in the power of human connection and storytelling in the healing process. My therapeutic work is rooted in humanistic, trauma-informed, and existential principles, and I tailor treatment to each individual’s unique needs.
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and trained in multiple therapeutic modalities, which allows me to integrate approaches that best support you. I value the mind-body-spirit connection in trauma healing and often incorporate somatic self-regulation techniques. Part of my work includes Internal Family Systems, which focuses on healing the wounded or struggling parts of yourself.
At the same time, I am client-led. If you are seeking practical tools or skills, I integrate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Dialectical Behavior Therapy to meet your specific goals.
More About Elyssa Calderon
Professionally, I began in community mental health, focusing on individuals with persistent and severe mental illness. I then worked with college-aged students navigating transitional periods and provided school-based counseling to adolescents facing challenges such as depression and anxiety.
