Approach and therapeutic focus

With families, I enjoy supporting parents in setting loving limits, and helping children feel listened to and understood. I believe healthy communication is the key to having healthy relationships. As a therapist for both families and couples I promote healthy communication and teach conflict resolution skills.

As a teen and adult therapist, I work to support individuals on their journey of self discovery. I believe each of one us is our own expert on ourselves: at times we need guidance to access our inner expert. I enjoy helping teens and young adults cope with transition issues, depression, anxiety, LGBTQ issues, and trauma.

As a child therapist I enjoy both play therapy and talk therapy. Common struggles I have experience working with include oppositional behaviors, trauma reactivity, anxiety, depression, and life transition issues.

My  training includes Family Systems Therapy, Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, EFT, EMDR, Trauma Recovery, and Couples Counseling.

Experience

I have provided counseling in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, group homes, and outpatient therapy. I have been both a therapist and a clinical supervisor. My training and experience, both personally and professionally, has provided me with a broad range of coping skills and tools that clients can learn to use on their own.

Formal Training and Education

I obtained my Masters In Social Work from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. My formal training includes Family Systems Therapy, Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, EFT, EMDR, Trauma Recovery, and Couples Counseling.
