I am an Oregon native who enjoys the beauty of all of nature’s creation. I find joy in life’s simple pleasures. I enjoy traveling, music and singing, genealogy, cooking, photography, sitting in the sunshine with a good book and being in the company of my two kitties and husband. I have a strong interest in ancestral health and wellness. Raised Christian, I have adopted various beliefs and philosophies throughout adulthood and added those to my personal spiritual practice. I welcome all faiths and beliefs into the therapy space.
Can I help you ?
Can I help you ?
Psychotherapy and counseling can be helpful in a variety of issues.
My work is focused on adults who find themselves “stuck” in life and have trouble making changes. I would love to help you rewrite the story of your life. If you are ready to work with me and go on a healing journey I can assist you with:
• Disordered Eating
• Depression
• Anxiety & Stress
• Trauma
• Chronic pain and illness
• Grief
• Spiritual issues
• Women’s health
Approach
Approach
I consider my approach to be based on the premise of neuro-psychotherapy. This is where neuroscience meets therapy. I provide psychoeducation around the brain, limbic system and neuroplasticity so that you can feel more in control of your body and emotions. I use somatic therapies in my work to help you release emotions and pain in your body that can get stuck. I have a particular interest in ancestral wellness, where you will learn from a physiological standpoint and how “modern saber-toothed tigers” affect you in your everyday life by creating stress in both the mind and body.
Therapeutic Focus
Therapeutic Focus
I enjoy incorporating Narrative Therapy to help you view problems in your life with an external lens and to help you rewrite your story. Other theories I pull from include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MCBT) and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Somatic therapies are another modality I like to use to help release emotional and physical pain.
Experience
Experience
Since 2011, my work has been diverse as I assisted adults struggling with a wide range of behavioral and emotional barriers. Work settings include crisis respite, county jail, outpatient therapy and residential therapy.
