Sarah Nachbar

Marriage and Family Therapist Associate

Hello! I am a recent graduate from University of Oregon’s Couples and Family Therapy program and very excited to be working at Arise. I work with individual adults, teens, children, couples, and families and enjoy the softening and compassion that practicing therapy brings into my life. I hope to help clients find this for themselves too! I am an LGBTQ person who enjoys playing instruments, hiking, and rock climbing.

Sarah's Approach

I take an emotion focused, relational approach- meaning I help people explore patterns that may be keeping them stuck by tending to emotions and releasing coping mechanisms that are no longer working in their favor. I keep in mind how our past and current context (both personal and systemic) intersects with our identities to impact those coping mechanisms, and how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors reinforce those patterns.
