Can I help you ?

I enjoy working with motivated individuals, age 2+, and families seeking to improve an area of their life, increase life functioning or move past an obstacle holding them back.

Such challenges may include;

Anxiety, Coping skills

Abuse, Trauma, Dissociation

Culture and generational trauma

Chronic medical conditions/chronic pain

Family Conflict

Gender related issues

I am an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained therapist with an Attachment and Somatic focus, as well as a trained Play Therapist and Sensorimotor Student.

My theoretical orientation is consistent with my approach to treatment as EMDR and play therapy are more "experiential" processes rather than traditional "talk" therapies and research has shown lead to lasting results. I believe therapy is most beneficial and successful when there is a positive working relationship

based on collaboration and alignment toward a common goal.

Therapeutic Focus

As such, I aim to offer an open, inviting and warm atmosphere where all feel free to be themselves, are able to find a comfortable way to communicate and feel free of bias or judgement. I welcome feedback, questions and often integrate sensory work, play, art,

music and movement into sessions based on client need and preference, as I believe each individual communicates and processes in their own unique way.

I have worked as a Clinical Social worker since 2005 in a variety of settings including: community mental health centers, school districts and group practices. Prior to beginning work in this field, I mentored several children, tutored children in after school programs and volunteered in my local community.

Formal Training and Education

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oregon, license number L6471 and hold a master's degree from the University of Iowa in Social Work with an emphasis in Clinical Therapy focused on children, adolescents and families, as well as a bachelor's degree focusing on Abnormal and Developmental Psychology. I am a member of the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), the National Association for Play Therapy, National Association of Social Workers and the Oregon Association for Play Therapy. I have also had the honor of receiving Oregon's 2017 Children's Champion Award and a Certificate of Recognition from Iowa's Governor in 2008.
